We Provide Capability Testing and Test Results Analysis
We have 2 main objectives:
1) to assist learners to explore a future career using/managing Data
2) to assist in providing additional insights that assist in the necessary neural pathway development in the following subjects.
English, Geography, History, Life Sciences (previously Biology), Physical Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Accounting, CAT, I.T., Music, Drama, Art, Business Studies and many others.
Teachers completing the test will be able to apply the insights they have gleaned about themselves to better assist learners to develop the new thinking capabilities required to find work in the new Employment Boom - The Data Revolution.
As the IT Revolution wanes, and the economy sheds IT jobs, due to the advent of "the Cloud". Teachers and Managers Doing the Indicative Test themselves will help their students/staff become "future-proofed employees", no matter what subjects they teach.
The creation of an interest group contemplating data, and the challenges the world is facing, can also be a fun extra mural for those who do not excel in the physical activities.
TODAY WE READ STATEMENTS STATING THAT THE WORLD HAS CHANGED TOO FAST FOR OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM AND THAT WE RE NOT PREPARING THEM FOR TODAY'S WORLD OF EMPLOYMENT – WHAT HAS CHANGED?
The I.T. Industry and our data environments have grown exponentially over the last 20 to 30 years, which, with the increasing speed of data transfer and the growth in data storage, has resulted in business across the globe, needing to work with a new breed of Data Management professional. We now see the “Data Revolution” taking over from the “I.T. Revolution”
There are Degrees you can do that have a module or two that covers data, however, this addresses the system data, it does not address the real data problems, which are created and perpetuated by humans. What is also in its infancy is how to identify and correct the issues without creating further problems.
Humans were becoming obsolete to businesses, which deferred to the “cheaper” technological solutions. However, Businesses are now learning that they are squandering their resources, and they are being forced more and more by legislation to care for, protect and manage the Data resource, as well as each quality aspect of the Data, relevant to the purpose and the policies in place for that Business and/or Industry.
Just as it takes a specific way of thinking to work with computers, it takes a specific, and different way of thinking to be able to work with ethereal Data.
I am interested in giving back to our world some of what I have learnt over twenty-five plus years. I am an Internationally Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), practising as an Enterprise Data Architect, consulting to large corporates, as well as some smaller ones.
I have much I can share, as well as a simple way to train and develop the necessary neural pathways to be able to work in multiple dimensions simultaneously considering cross dimensional flows and impacts.
The training I provide is not for free, but, I am happy to visit, and provide more insight to staff who would be interested in, and be able to reach, the learners who might be interested in doing such training.
At a reasonable fee, I can provide information discussion sessions (Information Talks) around the power and potential of multi-dimensional thinking and the opportunities that will emerge for young people interested in a career in working with Data. I also offer the Train-the-Trainer training, however, it is naturally more intensive. All training is done in afternoons or evenings, but not Friday evenings or Saturdays.
Those candidates that seem to excel in this area, include those who have played a wide variety of computer games that force the development of different neural pathways required to succeed at the games. Training of these students is a simple matter of redirecting the already established neural pathways to address a less exciting, but more lucrative set of challenges facing our globe. We offer aptitude tests too.
Others who appear to be naturally gifted in this area are those “suffering” from ADD, ADHD, Spurges and mild Autism. However each of these groups need to be trained separately with those who have the same or similar (“condition”, which I consider a gift for today’s new world of Data related challenges).
There are also those who are open minded, free-thinkers that have followed the traditional education paths, sometimes doing well, sometimes not.
Extra Murals that are excellent indicators for potentially successful Data individuals are, chess, swimming, music, dance, computer gaming, etc.
All who succeed in Data Management, do so primarily because they can see structure within what others see as chaos. They are often uncomfortable when people make changes without considering ripple effects of consequences, because to them, even though they may not be able to articulate it, the "domino effect" is quite obvious. (Training for these individuals includes a set of training designed to assist in helping these individuals to help others to see what they can see).
In the work place the best individuals strive to ensure, that at its core, the data-flows are properly controlled, managed and have a high quality of data flowing through them. These people are comfortable working with what are ethereal data-flows, flowing through humans and systems.
We train those who pass the indicative test to use The Multi Dimensional Data Management Framework (previously known as "The Data Atom") to think multi-dimensionally. This Framework was presented at the recent Southern African Data Management Association’s Annual Conference.
As this is an exploding need in the world, and data is an internationally pervasive challenge, local and international opportunities could be more easily attainable. I work on contracts with Data Management Companies, like Edge DataWave for example who are interested in really good skilled Data Management staff for their contracts.
A number of companies are also prepared to bring in a junior resource with such capabilities, groomed to work with data, and data-flows, and mould them to address their data management problems. Velisa Africa Academy runs Internship training programs.
As a school, the opportunity to provide "data management challenge projects" is available, however, I would caution teachers not to assume that this type of project meets the traditional paradigm of "data", as the definition of "data" has evolved.
Alternatively, those who would like to tackle a problem facing the International Data Management Community, can form a working Group and at their own cost, find working solutions and find a sponsor willing to implement it as a proof of concept in their school or business.
We do have relationships we can leverage to assist with this, however, that would have to fall under a contract negotiated between Multi Dimensional Thinkers (Pty) LTD and the group or school or university or business which is interested in the Proof of Concept.
